Writing a book about entrepreneurship for a client of mine and was mentioning some Oprah Winfrey stuff. A trip down the Wiki rabbit hole got me on Phil Donahue's page and a mention that he had once hosted 2 Live Crew to introduce America to hip hop. The audience reactions and facial expressions is like watching an SNL skit.

Somewhere in my closet I still have the cassette single of "Banned In The USA" that they released after the Florida hubbub referenced in the second clip.
"As Nasty As They Wanna Be" is still one of the all time great albums, not just for the music but for what it represented in terms of 1st Amendment protections.
