I can only assume neither of you have ever heard Smashing Pumpkins cover of "Landslide"?
It is simultaneously the most god awful yet comical thing ever recorded.
Welp. I think we're done hereJasomania said:
If I'm being honest my first thought was "less successful Nickelback". And I'm not a Nickelback hater, I think they are fine, they are just a band where i can't imagine someone being a big fan of specifically. The words "Shinedown is my favorite band" is something i can't picture anyone saying. Shinedown runs in that same inoffensive mediocre rock as Nickelback that is good enough for alt rock radio and the dentists office. Yet they aren't popular enough for people to actively hate like they do Nickelback.
Shinedown is one of those bands that I've heard a bunch of their songs on the radio but I've never gone and listened to an actual album of theirs. I went to their top songs and only recognized Second Chance but played a little bit of their top five and each one I was like "oh yeah that song, I've heard this". But even having heard 45 probably a dozen times I've never once even been curious what the name of that song was or what band it was by.
If they were going to open for an alt rock band I want to see I'd show up early enough to see them. If they were at a rock festival and they weren't playing against someone better i'd watch their set. But I couldn't imagine buying a ticket to a show where Shinedown was the headliner or buying their album. I blows my mind that they are a legit stadium rock band and were going to go on a tour where Bush was opening for them.
But what do I think of most when I think of Shinedown? My man, I don't think of them at all.
