A buddy turned me on to a podcast called "Wind of Change" that's become my newest obsession.

Essentially, the podcast follows a story told by an old CIA officer that "Wind of Change" was actually written by the agency to spread western culture through the Soviet Bloc. Pretty great listen, well produced, and very interesting.

Then they must've also written Jesus Jones' "Right Here, Right Now"

Been listening to a new episode each week on my longer runs as incentive. Really dig this one.

I'll save you 8 hours. The CIA didn't write the song. Pretty stupid concept but there are a few fun stories along the way.

Well who wrote Pedo Mike's Black or White?

"Follow the muskrat down to donkey park" - obvious CIA code lingo.

Our Senior Song was Celebration by Kool & The Gang. The administration thought that was inappropriate so they took it upon themselves to replace the song the student body voted for with Winds Of Change.

I've hated this song ever since.

ours went from the road goes on forever (thanks to a lot of campaigning by some future ags) to time of your life by green day after our admin listened to rek's lyrics. still irritated with that one.

Listened to this a couple weeks ago and loved it. Such a fun story and a great history lesson. The whole thing is available on Spotify if it hasn't been released in its entirety on Apple yet.

Spoiler thoughts: I don't think they actually wrote it, but I'd be surprised if they weren't involved in the Moscow concert or with the distribution of Wind of Change. Too much smoke there.

The podcast host is a great writer - I've read some of his New Yorker columns and started reading his book about The Troubles as well.

Ours went from "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" to Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On."

Can't complain too much, though, since our seventh grade song was "Gangsta Lean" by DRS.
