So, not super excited about the new series, but I will watch it for that tie in alone.

Here is a list of things that have a Lovecraft feel or direct tie that I have really enjoyed over the years:

1) Stranger Things. Duh.
2) N64 game "Eternal Darkness". Worth setting up an emulator and playing, IMO.
3) N. - short story by King. It deals with obsessive compulsive disorder in a very great and chilling way
4) COD Black-Ops 3. Fun playing the zombie minigames
5) Dagon movie was very good
6) N.
7) Revival by King. Chilling.

Interested to hear other's favorites. Please keep discussion about Lovecraft County in the other thread.

Bloodborne on PS4 has a fantastic Lovecraftian vibe, in storyline, monster design, and overall ambiance. Skyrim also had some interesting areas in one of the DLCs

Eldritch Horror board game is a fun one, where you're racing to prevent a world-ending event

A Song of Ice and Fire has a bunch of references

Huge fan of the Arkham Horror LCG (living card game). The whole Arkham setting is awesome.

I thought the first true detective was lovecraftian.

The Shadow over Innsmouth
The Whisperer in the Darkness
Herbert West - Reanimator (apparently this was considered HPL's worst story but I loved it)

Really? By whom? I've never heard it talked about like that. Other than the very racist depiction of one of the re-animated folks, I've always found it to be a good read.

I HIGHLY recomment the podcast "The Magnus Archives" for some eldritch style horror. Just started listening to the final season. This will he the last, so definitely something you can binge and hit a stopping point without having to wait for more once this season is over.

I just started reading Lovecraft's stuff earlier this month. So much material here! Could definitely keep someone occupied for a long while.

Actually it was Edgar Allan Poe's Murder in the Rue Morgue that was the first detective story.

The Resurrected by Dan O'Bannon is just a wonderful Lovecraftian interpretation.

In the Mouth of Madness by John Carpenter also does a great job exploring Lovecraft's hidden worlds.

Dagon did a great job showing the effect of Lovecraft's power on its people

But the worst adaptation of Lovecraft's work has to be the new show Lovecraft Country. That's the pinnacle of bait and switch.

I don't get it either. This reddit thread explores some of the reasons, but I think it is a nice change from the usual mega-dread or terror tone of his other stories.

The dark humor works for me though!

I'm also a big fan of this neo-silent film back in 2005. It's a great adaptation of his famous short story.

Guess I can see those viewpoints. Either way, I like the story and the movie both
