Since I haven't found any decent comedy recently (other than The Great) I decided to start VEEP over from the beginning. It's still so damn good, it just makes me happy. This show has the greatest ***-talking in tv history, the insults are constant and never get old, I just love this show.

Rome(at least season one), Atia(Octavian's mother) cracks me up. She's just a casual political creature to her core. My favorite scene is when they were under siege by the mob and she's whimsically making arrangements for who should kill who like she's ordering food. For a pre-Game of Thrones HBO show the political intrigue is good and the depiction of everyday life in the Roman Republic is the best out there. Marc Antony and Titus Pullo are also great characters...
You can't go wrong with this one on Hulu. I seem to be perpetually re-watching it..always something I missed from the previous viewing.
Seems that some people are turned-off by the show because of its politics, especially with Alec Baldwin playing a key role. Heck, he plays a strong Republican working as CEO for a major corporation and he nails the role. Both sides of the political aisle take a hammering on the show.
The characters are great, the plots are funny, and there's quite a bit of good old-fashioned offensive humor. Tons of cameo appearances from a variety of people in the entertainment and political worlds. The last 2 seasons are definitely not the best, but they have their moments.

When the rib and I were pregnant with our first, we were randomly watching Mad Men, which turned out to be one of our favorite shows ever.

Not exactly a rewatch, but I had stopped watching Doc Martin after season 7. Just got away from me. So we started back with Season 8 and headed into 9. That show is just hilarious.
Veep to me was:
S1: decent enough...the promise was clear
