#1 is so obvious, it's a waste of time to post. I'm not sure if I have the next 4 in the correct order. This thread idea occurred to me while watching Star Trek on Prime on my phone during lunch. NFL highlights were on the big tv. Star Trek and Football don't mix well.

The really important thing here is that we can now be confident that it would not have been a waste of time to finish typing the list.

I think Doctor Who is interesting because I'm not sure how nerdy it is in the UK, but for Americans, you have to be the kind of person who is interested in the genre and seek it out in the first place.

COSMOS - but it's brilliant. You can't watch it as a casual observer I don't think. Too intellectual.

The rebooted Neil DGT version was pretty damn good too.



Firefly also could be included. Nerdy and cult hit.

IMO, Doctor Who is less popular these days (in the US). It peaked with Tennant and Smith.

And I'm guessing this discussion is best shows as considered by your Average Joe.

Nerds picking their nerdiest shows could get obscure into various need cultures.

Is Twilight Zone really a "nerdy" show? I certainly don't consider it anywhere near the same ballpark as Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, or Dr. Who.
