Saw this over the weekend, I thought it was very well done and interesting take on the me too movement.

Anybody else see this one? Considering a theater night but really craptastic choices. This seems to be a possibility

I'm definitely interested in this one. Reviews have been great, and Carey Mulligan is awesome in everything. It's from Focus Features and the cast is huge. I'm in, just not sure when I'll get that chance to see it.

That was a fun and unsettling version of 'Toxic' going during that trailer.

Cast:
Carey Mulligan
Adam Brody
Sam Richardson
Clancy Brown
Jennifer Coolidge
Laverne Cox
Bo Burnham
Christopher Mintz-Plasse
Alison Brie
Connie Britton
Molly Shannon
Max Greenfield
Alfred Molina

This was a great movie. I don't want to give away much, but Carey Mulligan did a great job and it wasn't quite what I expected from the trailer, which was probably by design. Go see it!

Just FYI, this will *likely* be on VOD around January 15 or so. Universal Pictures, the studio behind it, signed a deal with AMC theaters earlier this year that allows Universal movies to go to VOD after playing in theaters for three weeks. The hitch is that Universal can't advertise this fact until the three weeks are up. Either way, really looking forward to this one. Good to hear you guys liked it.

Nice, thanks for the tip. We ended up watching Monster Hunter (which was perfect as a non-thinking SIMPLE action flick). Exactly what we needed after a stressful first week of the year. Will have this one circled for VOD.

Wife and I caught it this past weekend. It is a solid flick. It felt a little disjointed at times, but the performances are all pretty great. The script is pretty fresh. While it can be predictable it also takes you by surprise. You'll know what I mean when you see it. like knowing her love interest was in on the rape somehow, but then not seeing how she ends up.

All in all, fully worth your 110 minutes.

not sure if i liked it cause it was a really good movie, or just cause it wasnt the same regurgitated trash that hollywoods been putting out the last few years. pretty wild though, felt like a jordan peele flick at times.

Bumping this as my wife and I rented it last night. It was a very good movie. While not based on real events, it gets the idea from what happened at Stanford University a few years ago. Some aspects of the event there is blended into the story.

Bo did a great job and showed his acting chops. I made a few successful guesses on plot along the way, but the ending completely shocked me and was well done.

I don't see it as a "every guy" sucks movie as it dumps on both sexes pretty well as they had a part to play in the story. Preview certainly paints the movie to be darker than it is... even with the subject.

Just saw this movie and liked it. It's nice when there is a fresh new movie that isn't the same at the others. I knew a little going into it which helped. I don't want to spoil anything but go in with knowing nothing. I can see why Carey is being nominated for all the awards.

Just finished. Really enjoyed it. Ending was pretty great, though the killing scene was pretty rough to watch. I guess that was the point though.

The girl I watched this with thought the main character planned for and let the groom kill her in the bedroom, and that the one handcuff breaking off was not an accident. I disagreed but could kind of see where she was coming from. Thoughts?

Also I had a hard time gauging if CM was 25 or 48 from scene to scene.

Enjoyed the movie though!

kind of an interesting take. I mean she struggled quite a bit with him, but I could see her wanting to have the outcome like that. Especially after being devastated by Ryan's involvement in the rape.

Hilarious about Mulligan's age. A couple of scenes I told my wife she looked like a 40 year old smoker while most of the scenes with Ryan she looks quite a bit younger. Maybe that was the point.

Wife and I were sort of hoping they'd show her character involved a little more in a dark comedy of gore with some of her red marks vs blue. They leave it largely up to the viewer to assume, even when she had blood on her morning walk.

Finally got around to seeing this since it's on HBO Max now, really solid movie. Felt like a combination of Hard Candy and Very Bad Things, but also there was a lot of inescapable grief. Carey Mulligan is awesome, she's just so good in everything. The final scene at the wedding was great. Perhaps another song would have made the scene less comedic, but Angel of the Morning is forever funny since the opening credits of Deadpool.

Enjoyed it. Took about 3 unexpected turns. Great ending.
