The Equalizer was my favorite series as a kid and still holds a big place in my heart. I still break out the box set occasionally to watch a few episodes.

I thought the movies with Denzel were good on their own although didn't really follow the character from the series at all.

Now Queen Latifah is "Robyn McCall"?

In the clip, we can see the Queen take on the role of Robyn McCall, a divorced, single mother with a vigilante mentality. McCall hits the streets to assist anyone who's stuck in a sticky situation that can't involve the police.

I guess the one positive thing to pin hopes on is that one of the co-creators of the original series is involved so maybe they won't go too far with the SJW stuff.

Just terrible. Can they really never come up with a better idea than "let's recycle a hit from the 80s except make swap out the main characters for women or minorities."

This is what I was acting about network tv in the what happened to network comedy thread.
Between the fact that they have to cater to super sensitive advertisers, the boundaries forced by the PG nature of Network TV, and the fact that the creative minds realize that and have left for greener pastures, this is the garbage we are left with.
The Good Place is the only network show I have watched in the last five years or more. They are dying a slow death.

This is where the real problem is. Almost any show that was a hit in the past will not succeed as a remake now.

I feel like Queen Latifah is pretty likable, but the only thing I could think of when this commercial kept coming on yesterday was "Who the hell is asking for this?"

And I also had no idea the show was The Equalizer until this thread. It's weird that they are promoting it on their commercials with a vague "=" symbol.

Well it stands to reason that its target audiences are African Americans and women and she will fight racists and gangs and an evil landlord named Tonald Frump. It will have a following just like every other show with a female twist. I

Watching the first episode for the hell of it because it followed the Super bowl and they make fat Queen Latifa run.

She takes on 3 bad guys unarmed in the first 10 mins. Yeah. It's believable. LOL!

Did you watch the original? 65 year old fat Brit kicked ass. That's the shtick and part of why it was awesome. I really enjoyed that first episode. Big as CIA rogue was good. Super geek doing impossible hacking stuff with impossible gear is always good. Bad guys that are clearly bad guys getting theirs. Jaguar. Greatest show ever? No. But I liked the original and the movies too.

I did know the snowflakes triggered by anything remotely "SJW" would hate it though.

I agree. It's almost as absurd as her playing...I don't know...THE EQUALIZER.
