Finished this up last night. Pretty good doc told by the detectives track who tracked the Night Stalker back in the 80s. I knew he was a serial killer but not much more. What a creepy effin dude. Not just a serial killer, but serial rapist, and serial child molester choosing victims completely at random in regards to age, gender, or race.

Looks interesting. I came across it last night and started re-watching Mindhunters. I'll probably watch Night Stalker throughout the week.
About 5 years ago, I ghost wrote the autobiography of a guy named Willie Green who was wrongfully convicted of murder in LA in the 1980s and imprisoned for 25 years before getting released.He was in San Quentin the whole time and on death row for a number of years with Ramirez.
As I'm sure the series will go into, the amount of utter eff-ups that the police and the media committed before catching Ramirez is almost unbelievable. He was only caught because he was spied by a teenage kid who was out sneaking a cigarette one night, if I recall correctly.
I did about 8 interviews with Mr. Green, and he told some staggering, hilarious,and horrifying stories from life in San Quentin. The "best" one being that when Scott Peterson was brought in after being found guilty, the guards "forgot" that they were supposed to take him straight to the separate Death Row unit and instead marched him straight down Main Street in front of thousands of other inmates who had been told "the guy who murdered his pregnant wife and unborn daughter is coming today, let's give him a nice SQ welcome."

After the first episode once again the story telling is slow and clunky and drawn out way too much. 10 minutes on the fat cop to start is just bad tv

From the show, all they were able to get off of that is a fingerprint off the mirror of the car he was driving. Yup, the media come across as completely self-absorbed losers similar to the ones around the Richard Jewell case. Kinda enjoying that aspect of it.

Im very into true crime and i like this one. I've heard of the Night Stalker, but like a poster above i didnt know he diversified and morphed his MO so quickly. I mean at one point this guy was committing two murders a night and like 5 a week at a certain clip.
Im only halfway through the second episode, but man. sometimes I feel kind of creepy being interested in some of this stuff, but i dont know, it's just interesting to me.

I'm pissed that he died of cancer after 20 years. California, in effect, has no death penalty. They have executed 13 people since it was reinstated in 1977. And I read that they have a rule where people need to be executed in the order of conviction. Since there are 744 people on death row, a person getting convicted today would be 745th in line, and at the rate is 1 person every ~3.4 years, the death penalty is really life in prison.
I also finished it the other day. It is pretty good, but I thought the main detective that they interviewed throughout liked talking about himself way too much. Also wished they had gone into the failed capture at the dentist office more. Sure, the button didn't work, but what else happened during that visit???

The cops gave in to Erickson's extortion and gave her an exclusive interview to keep her from disclosing the shoes. She was basically saying, "Either I make your investigation a lot harder (and cause more innocent people to die), or you give me an exclusive interview." It was later on that Diane Feinstein exposed her idiocy to the world by divulging all that info. Anybody with an IQ over 10 should have known the importance of keeping that information secret. Then 6 years later, the morons of California elected her Senator. Now we all have to suffer the consequences of that.
There is a podcast called case fIle true crime that I really enjoy. He did a several episode series on this case that started during his rape days. It is an amazingly horrifying story. The episodes were done several years ago but you can find them if you look back.

Just started watching.
Saw a lot of commentary on social media and pseudo news that this show was overly graphic. Doesn't seem any worse than any other serial killer doc. Pretty confused by all the outrage about it.

I didn't think it was bad either. That's probably people mostly accustomed to re-enacted true crime shows.
Yeah not sure what they're talking about. It was pretty standard in my view.
Yeah, it wasn't gruesome compared to others I've seen. They blacked out parts of pictures and stuff all over the place. Typical R rated movies are worse.

Ramirez took creepy to a whole new level. Definitely not the type of person that had two sides that fooled people with bouts of normalcy. He was creepy 24/7. Never could get a sense for the two police officers. Were they competent or incompetent? It's hard to say based solely on this series. And it's pretty clear that Ramirez killed many more people than is currently known.

I liked this too. Just an utter piece of garbage. He killed someone, ate their food in the fridge, threw up, then masturbated in the living room?? Crazy doesn't begin to describe this guy.
Enjoyed the series. Was a bit underwhelming.

I love true crime, and serial killer docs more than your average joe and I thought episode one was really boring. In fact, I couldn't finish it.
I'm typically a very squeamish person and I did not find it too graphic at all!
ESPN's profile of OJ was more gruesome than this show.
Ramirez and some part of his family lived next door across an alley from my dad growing up. One of my aunts knew and/or was friends with his sister. When the story broke they were surprised it was that seemingly quiet family from back in the hood.
I saw this too. It wasn't that bad at all, i didnt think. I thought the scenes from the murder in the HBO MAX show The Undoing were much more graphic.CharlieBrown17 said:

I think this is just social media being social media. One person says its "disgusting", then other people pile on, then it goes viral, then the media picks up on it and writes a story for clicks and says that "critics warn this is very graphic", critics being 30 random people/bots on twitter.
