Enjoyed him in pretty much everything I saw him in, even Evening Shade.
His dedication to Mark Twain was astounding; may watch some of those videos on the youtube.

I can't think of anything that he was in that I didn't enjoy.
Although it was only a supporting role, his work as Deep Throat in All the President's Men was memorable.

Fantastic actor. He proved in "Lincoln" that he still had it.
The crazy old officer in Men of Honor and the main partner in The Firm are the two that are stuck in my brain. He was a great character actor.
I literally had a conversation with two West Wing nerd fans last week when I shared I was shocked to learn he was still alive. Loved him in everything he was in. Also didn't know he was married to Dixie Carter.
Great actor. He will be missed.
