In Austin for a wedding, was flipping channels before NCAA games started. Paramount network is running an Indy marathon and once Raiders started I haven't been able to change the channel.

This movie is so damn good. Everything that cinema should be. And good lord the score is SO EFFING GREAT.

It's always been a favorite and damn it holds up every time.

One of my favorites of all time.

Although, I think it was abed who called out that the movie would get to the same point without Indy, and I haven't been able to convince myself he's wrong.

Haha, yeah I've seen that and it's true!

I guess the Nazis would have eventually found the right location of the Well of Souls, but Indy sped up the process when they spotted his team digging in the correct place.

Still one of the greatest movies of all time

Common thing people try to point out to sound smart or something.

Without Indy, the Nazi's wouldn't have found Marion, would not have gotten the medallion, and then would not have found the Well of Souls. Could they have eventually found it? I guess? But that's assuming they made it there before the end of the war.

Yes, that's the only thing I can come up with: finding Marion. Indy unwittingly led the Nazis to her. There's no way they find the ark without finding her (and her medallion) first.

Even if they somehow find the ark without Indy, it would have stayed in Nazi possession (even after it melted those there when it was first opened) instead of getting housed in some American warehouse. Pretty critical difference imo.

My second favorite movie behind The Empire Strikes Back.

About a decade ago, AMC had a Saturday showing of all four of the movies that I went to (unusual for me as it was a Saturday in the fall, and the Aggies were playing - but that was Johnny's game against SMU that I didn't really care to watch).

also, they were digging in the wrong spot. They piggy-backed onto Indy's discovery. Maybe they would have eventually found it, who knows?
