I loved Shameless but stopped watching when Fiona started buying real estate and everyone was going gay on the show. It was obvious the show had run its course and they had nothing else to say or do.

For those that shut it off after episode 2 on the last season, how did it end for everyone?

I just assumed Frank either died, was in jail, or won the lottery and lost the ticket.

Frank - Dead from intentional OD, series ends on his floating to the sky

Ian - Married to Mickey, living in nice apartment

Lip - Married, delivering door dash to the opportunities he passed up, maybe his wife pregnant again?

Debbie - Hooked and moving to El Paso with cop killing girlfriend who wasn't introduced until next to last episode

Liam - Homeless I guess? They MAYBE sold the house (it's the plot arc of the entire last season and they seemingly leave it up in the air) and didn't make it clear who is going to take him.

Carl - A meter maid or maybe tending bar at the Alibi with cop friend?

Kev and V - Moving to Louisville, I guess? Never made it clear if they sold the bar or not, despite that being a several episode story arc.

Damn, trying to explain what happened to the characters makes it sink in just how big a **** fest this was. Virtually zero closure on anything other than Frank.

Forgot this show was still a thing. Stopped watching in like 2017. Thought it went on way too long and it looks like I have once again been proven correct in thinking that shows always drop off in quality when they go past 5-6 seasons.

Thank you for the summary. Can't believe how quickly it went off the rails... and I find it hilarious they killed off Frank.... everything else sounds horrible.

Edit - I found an article from the show's creator on the ending. Frank died of COVID as well. Didn't realize that. Hilarious. Fiona also didn't make it back because of quarantine restrictions. She was supposed to but didn't happen and decided to make adjustments.

And I have been one of those viewers. I have been a devout viewer of shows I was once a huge fan of that go on too long, even through the ****ty seasons, hoping that they at least close out the show strong. And they always fall flat on their face. *cough*DEXTER*cough* But I quit watching Shameless after season 6 or so because it just got redundant after a while and I felt like the show wasn't really going anywhere.

i havent seen one 'Showtime' show yet that didnt end up sucking after about 4 seasons, only to go one another 4 seasons. its like a chore to see them through to the end.

oh and frank died of covid, not the OD.

I haven't seen the last season yet, but if Frank died of COVID then he's the poster-child for "Body so monumentally f***ed up from preexisting conditions...but had COVID when he died, so cause of death = COVID". Granted, ol' Frank's "preexisting conditions" are all completely self inflicted of course, but still...
