It is one of the better fantasy affairs Netflix has put out since the Witcher, enjoyable but overall leaves me wanting more out of it.

Story is decent but the way things constantly coincidentally fall into place between different character groups seems like lazy writing. Also don't care for the main character too much, but liked Mal and the heist group.

Might be worth a watch if you have a fantasy itch, but nothing too epic.

Wife and I are really enjoying it, and she's not a fantasy nerd at all.

Netflix continues to amaze and delight. I thought The Witcher is the best science fiction series 2019-2020, but I was wrong.

Well Witcher came out Dec 2019. Shadow and Bone came out April 2021. so you could still be right.

Glad to hear good reviews. Been waiting on Carnival Row and Witcher second seasons (and for any sort of news for WoT) so hopeful to hear this is liked.

cinematography was excellent, but I felt the story was your typical cw or freeform teenage drama level. The heist group was excellent, but the rest was so stupidly predictable I stopped enjoying it.

depends on your views of violence, some cursing, and off scene stable sex.

Pretty sure only nudity is a butt shot

It is based on a young adult novel so that is not unexpected.

2 episodes in and it's certainly better and grittier than CW-esque stuff. Really enjoying it.

As previously mentioned its based off the young adult series of the same name, which is actually a pretty entertaining read. The author also has a series called Six of Crows which specifically follows that heist group and the crow club.

Im very biased but I binged episodes this past weekend and loved it. I was really happy to see Netflix spend money on a show like this because it is often so cost prohibitive for fantasy adaptations.

Not if you are Amazon dropping half a billion on a show

I enjoyed it. Really good. I don't understand why they had to include the gay sex scene, totally unnecessary and typical of shows these days.

It feels like this would be an appropriate place to post this. Just a quick picture of the promo box we received to celebrate the series release last week.
