May not apply to the youngsters who never listened to the late great SRV, but never too late to learn what good music is.

Which one is better?

Little Wing

Tin Pan Alley

Out of the two it's hard to pick, but my favorite by SRV is:

PLUM LOCO

Between the two, "Little Wing".

He took it and made it an instrumental and actually expanded the original.

For this I choose "Little Wing". For other - and a great story - I choose "Riviera Paradise". The story of this song, recorded in one take, with the reel-to-reel tape on its last breath....just awesome.

Little Wing. They're both excellent, but if I could only listen to one of them for the rest of my life it's no contest.

Little Wing. Jimi Hendrix was not a regular human. He connected with music in some extra-terrestrial or super-human way. It is awesome to see in videos. It takes the same kind of guitar god to take a Hendrix song and say "let me make a few improvements on it, Jimi".

Watching Jimi or SRV play is like watching a Marvel super hero movie. They might as well be flying or throwing cars or shooting lasers out of their eyes.

Thank you for sharing that. Absolutely amazing. Two masters of blues guitar on the stage together.

yeah I hadn't seen that with Johnny Copeland. I was a huge fan of his, bought several of his records and saw him live in Houston multiple times. The guy played blues, traditional R&B and then mixed in some West African rhythms. Just a true professional on stage. "Promised Myself" is one of my favorites of his.

"Showdown!" is still one of my favorite blues albums to this day. Robert Cray is the only one of the three left now. That will be a really sad day when he passes. And to think he could have been on that helicopter with Stevie!
