Anyone watching this? It caught my attention and I watched the first episode last night.

Overall not bad.

Obviously going into it I knew there would be some parts that would be a tough watch and I was right. Handful of scenes were rough with one in particular being very very hard to watch.

Only big complaint was the sound. It's one where it seems like the characters voices are drowned out by sound effects and ambient noises, and it's very hard to hear and understand dialogue. I guess that's a mixing issue but whatever it is it's pretty annoying and does take away from my enjoyment.

It was good enough to hold my interest and I'm gonna keep watching.

I am reading the book right now. Colson Whitehead is a magnificent writer.

Four authors have won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction twice: Booth Tarkington (1919 and 1922), William Faulkner (1955 and 1963), John Updike (1982 and 1991) and Colson Whitehead (2017 and 2020). The man has only written like 7 novels as well.

Unsolicited confirmation of this, but my wife started watching it without me and I walked by and she was watching with subtitles on which she never does unless it's a foreign language film.
