It seemed happy and homosexual.imjustsayin said:
Do you mean gay like happy? Homosexual? Or like in the 90's when gay meant dumb? Asking for a friend.
This is why Ratatouille is the greatest Pixar movie of all time.fig96 said:
I enjoyed it, felt very heartfelt and honest to me.
One thing that was a nice change is that this feels like a more intimate film than most big studio animation, very closely follows a couple main characters in a pretty small setting without any a bunch of big set piece type action sequences. Not that there isn't a place for those, just seemed like a nice change of pace.
im confused. who was gay? Luca and Alberto? I didnt get that at all.Dilettante said:
Pretty good. It seemed kinda gay. Was that intentional?

Are you saying the gay community is trying to make something about them?? That would never happen
While I think the gay parallels are hugely obvious, especially in the second half of the movie, I think it's subtle enough that kids would probably never notice.Quote:
I honestly didnt even consider that at all until I saw it on this thread.

I think it's there for those thatare old enough to understand it want it to be there, but it also speaks to just being different in general, not necessarily gay.
Either way, I thought it was a fairly solid movie, but not top tier Pixar. But that's a pretty gd hard list to crack, to be fair.

I cant think of one scene that makes them gay at all unless you really want to see it that way
SURELY the title is a reference to the Godfather right? It's too much of a coincidence to not be.Claude! said:

Luca 2: Luca Sleeps With the Fishes
not misreading. Agree for sure the idea of acceptance was evident. think it was basically the point of the movie, and I love that. had a good discussion with my 4 year old about that after the movie.fig96 said:I think you're misreading here.gigemJTH12 said:FIFYBrian Earl Spilner said:While I think the gay parallels are hugely obvious, especially in the second half of the movie, I think it's subtle enough that kids would probably never notice.Quote:

No one is saying they were gay in the film, but that there's some parallels in the ideas of acceptance, etc.
