Watched this today on HBOMax. Seems like it was shot with some weird lens or something. Everything on the edge of the screen was squished. It was very distracting, especially on pan shots.

I agree, the pan shots felt like they were filming with a fish lens. It was disorienting at the start, but I got over it pretty quick.

I thought the movie was okay. Nothing to write home about, but a good candidate for streaming release.

Slow burn. I thought it was solid, just took a while to set the hook and become interesting.

Agree the fish eye was stupid. It's like the CFB producers that think they'll be cute and show every punt from behind the punters ass, or constantly zoom in on the QB and not show the result of a pass until long after it was caught/missed/etc.

I agree with all that was mentioned above. Good to see Brendan Fraiser back on the screen. The plot was a bit messy and at times hard to follow or keep up with characters and their relationship to the story.
But my favorite sequence is the surprise a-list actor that shows up in act three. That character was played perfectly and they were very enjoyable.
I give it a B-

I think messy is a good description. I was confused trying to keep track of the characters and felt they threw too many ideas into the mix without really fleshing them out. We ended up with mere references to things that could have made a much more interesting story than what we got. Love the cast, but was very disappointed

Really enjoyed this. Loved the cast, the slow build, the twists and turns, and the big cameo from you-know-who. Then again, it was my first trip back to the theater in 16 months, and I was so psyched that anything would have played great (was waiting 'til the mask mandate was fully lifted in theaters out here, as I didn't want to have to wear one for multiple hours). It was also somewhat of a memorable night seeing Tim Robbins in the lobby and then Taylor Kitsch and his girlfriend sat a couple rows ahead of us. Packed crowd, busy theater overall, felt almost like old times again. Missed it so damn much.

Watched this yesterday, it was decent, but not top shelf Soderbergh. Agree the camera perspective was weird, like it was shot with a fish-eye lens or something. Great cast: Don Cheadle, Benicio Del Toro, David Harbour, Jon Hamm, Ray Liotta, Kieran Culkin, Brendan Fraser. Even Bill Duke was in there, haven't seen him in anything since...maybe Predator.

I just thought the show got stuck in the cross, double cross, triple cross, and so on to the point it kind of lost itself. But the acting was solid, loved the cameo toward the end.

Easily the best thing I've seen that went directly to HBO Max.

What's weird is I watched it and didn't think it was bad at all but now I feel like I don't remember anything about it.
