A bit cheesy cross between Friday Night Lights and The Blindside, but a fun watch as we wind down the dog days of summer.

This past season is pretty terrible. It took 19 episodes to not get a damn thing done.

It's clear as day the writers have never played football in their lives and have absolutely no idea what it looks like in high school. The weight rooms are the size of bedroom, linemen don't exist, football teams only have 15 players, female head coaches, each team has 2 total coaches and there are zero position coaches, etc. etc.

The football storylines are hilariously bad. The show is basically the new 90210 with football, random gang violence, and enormous quantities of horrifically terrible hip hop music.

The show was okay until Spencer's dad died and then it went completely off the rails into being so bad it's funny.

Also, it's pretty clear no one ever took a single look at what the demographics of Beverly Hills actually is before they made the show.

It's a pretty terrible show, but I do watch it faithfully. Think its nostalgia for the early seasons of 90210 pulling me in. Like 90210, they're setting it up so everyone magically lands up at the same college.

The football scenes are laughable. Doesn't look like they have enough players to even field an offense.

my wife had me watching some of it in compromise... it has every teen cliche you can imagine, and then in 2020 it went fully psycho moron SJW, and became quite the joke.

My 16 year old son LOVES this show. He thinks it's the pinnacle of television.

He did mention them getting all political, and said he wanted more football, less politics.

Why did you make a new thread about the same show?

Season 3 is legitimately horrendous. Half the show is now dedicated to social justice. If they wanted to make a show about the journey of a kid through high school football into college and the pros then they are failing miserably. I think they have hit every single cliche imaginable that BLM claims is happening. It's like they took a meme about it all and made it in a major show storyline.

Wife watched this. What I saw was so bad it made an Adam Sandler football movie seem good.

Waterboy is one of the best football movies of all time.
