What are some of your favorite courtroom or even legislative stories in movies?

We have a 16 year old that is on his high school debate team and very much enjoys the research and presenting his arguments. We talked about watching some old movies with great courtroom scenes. Movies that we thought of quickly were A Few Good Men, Lincoln Lawyer, any of the John Grisham movies, To Kill a Mockingbird.

It could also be any movie where they are debating in congress or parliament etc.

What does Texags think?

If we're loosely talking about procedural shows/movies, here are some of my favorites.

- 12 Angry Men (whole movie)
- 9 Pretty Darn Angry Men (King of the Hill spin about a lawnmower)
- Lincoln (chamber scenes and DDL at the meeting tables trying to lobby up amendment votes)
- Downtown Clay Davis taking the stand in the Wire
- Legasov breaking down the failures of nuclear reactor in the last episode of Chernobyl

Just get him to watch Law & Order. The attorneys on those shows are so good that the judge always has to say "I'll allow it" no matter how unusual or out of line they are.
