Grapefest is this weekend and although they have a lot of cheesy bands playing, tonight at 9:30, Berlin is playing.
I'm busy until 9:30 but will make the trek over, mainly to enjoy Terri Nunn and hear her sing what I consider the best love song of the 80s: Take My Breath Away.

I read she performs this song to a dark back drop with pictures of old airplanes with fans blowing her flowing dress, much like the video.

…like sand you slipped away

I was not a Berlin fan but I saw them at the 80s in the Sand event in 2019 (or maybe 18?) and was blown away. Fantastic live highly recommend.

For other great Berlin songs check out:

They've got a good 5-10 memorable songs.

They definitely have more than one great song. I can't say I celebrate their entire catalog, but I still really like Pleasure Victim. Always heard they hated Take My Breath Away btw

If it was convenient. And free. And not gonna be crowded. Then maybe. Otherwise definitely no.

It certainly doesn't sound like it:

Quote:

Nunn, always a champion of Take My Breath Away, says the song takes pride of place in their live shows.

"People just have history with that song. It puts people into a zone. I get to watch them go into that zone. If I get to meet them after the show they want to tell me their story how Take My Breath Away was the soundtrack of something that mattered to them their first kiss, the first record they bought, their first baby it's in their DNA. I know what's that like, I have songs that changed my life too, they came at a time when I needed them and I played them over and over. I get it. It's really cool to have a song like that. It's an emotional experience."

Once California started reopening a couple months ago, I went and saw Berlin and I tell you what, the show was great.

The duet of "Sex" was worth the price of admission.

Also, you should get out and support Terri Nunn because she has been in the crosshairs of the woke mob / Covid mob, after performing a NYE show at Mar a Lago.

I'd pay hundreds to hear Zeppelin play Kashmir.

When the 1 hit wonder sucks so bad you gotta appeal to politics.

Strangely, her last song was, "Highway to Hell" and after struggling a bit on her transitions (she's 61), she just killed H2H, It was easily her best song of the night.

Makes me wonder if she had been in a hard Rock band how she would have done.

I thought the opening with "No More Words" was pretty strong.

Was in the pit when Metallica came to Houston in 2003…..loved all their music but really wanted to hear Creeping Death live for the first time…..would pay just to hear that one song live again

My wife was waiting for, "you know, that, bang-bang song."

She thought Berlin did The Warrior.
