They just inducted new members Oct. 30th and was curious about him. Grew up loving his songs and seen him twice live. Saw him most recently in Vegas a few years ago and can still put on an awesome show. I wonder though if he'll ever make the HOF. He is iconic in my opinion.

I'm surprised he isn't already in to be honest.

I think the hall has a rule against admitting people who dance with themselves.

His relevant career length was pretty short, but his apex was way up there. I'm for it.

I thought the same thing until I looked at his hit songs and realized I only knew three of them, and I grew up in the 80s and 90s.

Meh... who cares, these days. The Rock and Roll HoF has lost its prestige and exclusiveness. Go for it, if it makes a few fans happy.

Off the top of my head (and based somewhat on which of his videos were often on MTV back in the day):

White Wedding
Dancing With Myself
Rebel Yell
Eyes Without a Face
Flesh For Fantasy
Rock the Cradle of Love (every guy loved that video)
Mony Mony

Steve Stevens is a great guitar player. Really underrated but perfect for what Billy did and the sound he needed

I'll guess I'll add three more that I know, not sure how I overlooked some of those. Don't know Flesh For Fantasy.

It's a good song!

That whole Rebel Yell album is pretty good actually. I was surprised when I bought a cheap cassette of it on a trip. Really enjoyed the whole album.

It's not 2112 or Back In Black or Van Halen's first album by any means, but it's a solid disc for the kind of music he puts out.

I vaguely remember MTV playing his cover of LA Woman constantly too.

Also, that's Steve Stevens on guitar on the Top Gun Anthem.

Yeah, I left out L.A. Woman since it was a cover.

Also Billy delivered a hell of a strong ~75 minute set last week.

First time seeing him and was curious if he still had it.

Hot in the City is awesome song that yall have forgotten.

I just heard an acoustic set on satellite radio. Just Billy Idol and Steve Stephens and it was great.

Yes for sure.

He is still awesome live, and as mentioned Steve Stevens is still amazing.

Billy's new stuff is actually very good.

This is how I feel. I don't think he belongs, but he's better than a ton of folks they've let in so whatever.

Considering they have a lot of people who have never played any rock and roll in their life, sure, he should be in there.

Him showing up in The Wedding Singer as his 80s self is maybe the greatest cameo ever by a musician. He really leaned into it and it ruled.

I say No. I would rather see Pat Benetar , Doobie Bros and Judas Priest go in before Billy.

But I heard that acoustic thing too, it was great. S. Stevens is the secret sauce, much like Neil Giraldo.
