Just finished this movie with Neil Patrick Harris on HBOmax with the fam and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.

Most of the movie is a flashback story based in the late 80's revolving around a group of friends obsessed with Nintendo. Has a neat Christmas Story set in the 80's vibe.

Recommend for those looking for a family flick to watch over the holidays

We started it last night but gave up soon after the power glove scene. It felt like a 1 to 1 scene remake of A Christmas Story. Just couldn't get into it which sucks because I really wanted to like this movie.
Staff - take out the trash.

I'm about the same age as the main character. Sometime in the late 80s my mom bought me a pair of Guess jeans. Knowing my mom, she probably got them at a garage sale. I knew nothing of the brand except that they were popular. However, the first and only time I ever wore them I damned sure learned what it meant when the logo on the back pocket is red. Did not hear the end of it at school that day.

Definitely sympathized with the kid when he was wearing the purple girl boots.

Fun movie. Enjoyed it.

Only had one problem with it. Nintendo came out in 1985 and you could not find it on the shelves anywhere. Just like the cabbage patch kids. I think by 88, every kid had one.

Yep, and the power glove didn't come out until late 89/90. When Lucas told everybody how much he loved it, because it was so "bad"….

I really enjoyed this flick, especially the ending. Cute and touching.

I was around 16 when this was set so I never got into Nintendo. In that young teen stage I was more into board games and Atari ST games with floppy disks and such.

Very relatable. I love Christmas Story and see tons of parallels, but this 1 to 1 remake of a Christmas Story is nonsense. It's more different than say A New Hope & The Force Awakens.

What an awesome movie. I'm 40 and have three kids around the ages of the kids on the movie. Holy S, this was the funnest movies I've seen in a long time, and by far the best "kid" movie I've seen. There are so many memorable scenes and a ton of lol.
