First off, all I can say is wow.

I was told by a friend that I had to see this guy when he was in town so I got tickets to his show in Houston last night.

If you are guitarist, this show is a cant miss. I am still on cloud 9. He may be the best musician under 30. From Townes van Zant covers to psychedelic rock, to metal solos & back to root bluegrass. What an experience

Cosign. It was excellent.Think there was a Grateful Dead cover or two in there as well. Or at least old songs the dead also covered. I was blown away by the performance.

I've never seen him live, but I've watched a bunch of his stuff on YouTube. He's pretty badass. He seems like one of those people that would excel at any instrument you put in front of them, or in any style you ask them to play. Pretty cool you got to see him live.

When I saw them live, every song I changed my mind on who the best musician was in the band. They are all super talented.

**** yeah, it was a great show. Great crowd too. He played some Doc Watson songs too. The guy is just on another level and his band is equally as talented. They are a special band. Even if you don't like bluegrass, go and see them for the musicianship. They played for damn near 3 hours too. You'll get your money's worth for sure. See that guy in the HUMBL hat in the far far left of that pic? That's me!

Just saw this thread. Been on many 3 day runs of various bands (moe., WEEN, UM, Phish, WSP, GD), and this was up there with the best of them.

Houston was great. Too small of a venue already for this band but it was my first time seeing them after listening for a couple of years and missing the Deep Ellum Art Co show in 2019.

Houston:

Austin: had never been to Moody. Tried to for the three night run of WSP back in August when JB got covid and they cancelled the three shows literally three hours before night 1. That venue kicks so much ass and there was so much room to dance.

Dallas: My hometown that I love but I hate the Bomb Factory because it's always oversold. Might have ended up being the best of the three nights. Very hard to say.

*I did a disservice to Royal on the bass and Jarod on the mandolin by not getting fuller pictures of the band but I've got a cheap iphone 11.

^This is the best band touring right now imo. No repeats in three nights and that's with a new Grammy nominated album. Just unreal talent all around.

Houston was incredible since it was my first show and they played my favorite "Enough to Leave" and my second favorite "Away from the Mire". All the covers were great. Lots I didn't know, but band was as tight as I expected. Shockingly walked outside the venue to the nitrous mafia being present.

Austin was equally as amazing but wild to go from a tiny place that you can barely breathe in to Moody the next night. Went with two best friends that didn't go to HOU but drove down from DAL. The sound and space in that venue just blew me away and was able to be on floor about 7 rows of people back and that's when i looked at my buddies and said this is greatest bluegrass band of all time already.

Onto Dallas. I had expectations all along that it would be the worst of the Texas run just given the venue. Man was I wrong. Somehow the band suddenly had a screen backdrop to go along with what was already a killer light rig the first two nights. I guess it was the Factory's production support but still not sure.

They brought it so hard in Dallas as well. All three nights so different from the rest and all A+++. Got a great "Friend of the Devil". I was very inclined after to go to four nights in ATL this week but couldn't pull it off. Needless to say I'm obsessed though now and God Bless Texas indeed.
