Traveling again weekly so in the market for a set of good quality noise cancelling headphones for the airplane. Two main requirements is comfort and audio quality. Standard iPhone ear buds hurt my ears after a period of time, but I know the knew airpod pro's and Sony's version supposedly are much improved. Love over the ear headphones for sound quality though and leaning that way even over the convenience of size. What's your preference? Have the earbuds improved enough for the audiophiles?

Not an audiophile, but I really like my airpod pros. Was impressed with the noise cancellation for earbuds. They don't hurt my ears like the regular style apple earbuds either.

Also not an audiophile, but I've got both - a set of Airpod Pros and a Bose QC35. I've traveled with both - if I had to pick one, it'd be the Airpods. Their integration with the phone, phone call quality, and noise cancellation are all excellent. However, the specifically for flying, there's no question that the QC35s are superior for noise cancellation for the type of noise an aircraft produces in flight. It's amazing how much less fatigue you feel after a flight when you have a good set of noise cancelling headphones.

I have airpod Pros but rarely use them on the plane. I'd much rather have over the ear for long trips.

I can confirm that the Bose QC35 is outstanding for plane trips. I despise flying but I got a pair of these and they really take the edge off for me.

Do any of you run with your earpods? I got a pair but it seemed like no matter what I did I couldn't avoid "hearing my body" as I ran. Just seemed kinda eerie.

Run 4 miles a day with them in noise cancellation mode. Can't hear a thing except for badass classic rock.

I had the Bose in ear noise cancelling and they did an awesome job for years but the cord became a limitation with everything switching to Bluetooth. With international travel starting again, I went ahead with the airpod pros and was very happy with the experience despite the battery limitations. I did however our purchase a strap they can fit into as they are way too easy to lose if one were to pop out of my ear and slip down into the seat or wherever.

I've got a cheap pair of the Wyze headphones. I use them for 5+ hours a day on calls. They are comfortable, clear and I have heard any complaints about the sound quality from people on the other side. All in all very pleased for the $80

I also recommend getting both an over the ear set of headphones and a pair of in the ear earbuds. They have vastly different use cases.

I have a pair of HK "on the ear" head phones

They sound great but the noise cancelling isn't great and they fall off my head any time I look down.

The QC are great at the noise cancelling, but whoever is sitting next to you will be able to loudly hear whatever you're listening to.

I have a set of Bowers and Wilkins PX. The noise cancelling isn't quite as good as the Bose sets but their straight audio ability is much better.

Thnx for the input. Going to go with over the ear. After some research going to go with the Sony wh-1000mx4

Have the XM3's. For as light as they are was really surprised how well they cut noise - office, airplane, etc. Only downside is the mic seems to grab everything. I'd scratch my arm and they'd think I was opening chip bags.
