Yes. Watching. Knew it was going to be difficult to weed Stanford out ( loved him in White Collar) but wasn't prepared for the other.

This show has gotten harder to watch as the season has progressed. It's a checklist of wokeism from Charlotte's daughter to Miranda's new relationship to all the new characters. I dont have an issue with a more "colorful" cast but it seems so forced on top of the other issues. It's way too serious in tone.

Also, Kristin Davis has regressed in terms of acting skill. She was never great but now she's downright terrible and annoying.

I was in the kitchen cooking and my wife had it on in the adjacent room. I enjoyed S&tC for what it was at the time. After just listening to first the episode, I told her that I bet Miranda leaves Steve to be a lesbian with the black lawyer chick she was trying to white savior for.

I saw the update elsewhere and only missed my prediction by the profession, but nailed 2/3 from only the dialogue in the first episode.

Can't stand the Che character. Too crass. Fast forward thru all of her. I like the Seema character. Decent replacement for Samantha.

But the characters are supposed to be in their 50s. They are making Steve 80!!!

And just like that...

they ruined another classic TV show.

Original SATC was smart, funny and sexy; this iteration is none of those things.

Those are always funny comparisons. Like that Tom Cruise is now older than Wilford Brimley was when he starred in Cocoon.

Difference between AJLT and GG is that GG is still funny and holds up over time. I don't think either version of SATC will hold up given what they did to some of the main characters.

Before this new show, I would have sworn they did a story line on S&TC where Miranda is a lesbian. I was so certain of this, I am starting to wonder if I'm going crazy. I guess I'm wrong, but I really thought that's how S&TC ended. Granted, I never really paid much attention to the show. My wife watched it, and I'd only look up when someone got naked. Still, though, it's blowing my mind that she wasn't already a lesbian.

Samantha had a lesbian storyline during the show. The actress who plays Miranda is a lesbian in real life. Perhaps all that information melded in your mind.

I cringe every time the characters use the word "they" for a singular person. Charlotte's daughter claims to be non-binary but chose a masculine name and chose to wear a men's suit to her "they"-mitzvah. I'm so over this crap.

I thought the last episode was great, tho I do skim over the Miranda/Che thing.

Was good to see the texts with Samantha.

I loved the original series... and even the movies. I was very disappointed with this reboot on so many levels. It was far too serious and preachy... much more a tragedy than a comedy. They made people in their 50s seem like a step away from Leisure World. The character of Miranda was simply replaced by the real life one of Cynthia Nixon. They turned Steve into a caricature that was easy to just discard. Charlotte managed to go from sweet and quirky to annoying and neurotic. Their children all turned out to be spoiled brats. Carrie became even more self-centered and caustic and couldn't stop reminding everyone that her husband died... even for comedic effect. And the Che character... ugh. The fashion choices? Just awful.

I think Chris Noth had filmed flashback scenes to play throughout the season. But, after the production dumped him with the "me, too" allegations, they just cut them out. Those scenes were obviously missed in the final product.

And, of course, you can't replace Samantha with only a text stream.

This is one they should have left well enough alone in 2010 and called it a day.

Very good wrap up. The Miranda character is just insufferable now. She used to be funny and smart, now she is just annoying and a pretty horrible self centered person that is completely obsessed with being woke. So many awkward and terrible scenes for her. The last episode where Carrie is talking about how Big is now up in heaven smoking a cigar on a cloud and Miranda just loses her mind yelling at her for daring to believe there is a heaven or God is disgusting regardless of your feelings on religion, it was just cruel. The Che character is made out to be this super funny and popular and amazing character but she/they/it whatever is just... not. Basically just a lot of screaming and preaching and talking about how much of a badass they are and how oppressed they are while they make crazy money and live exactly the way they want. Agree on Charlotte completely. The weird storyline of her trying to be accepted by her black friend is just cringe.

All of the children are just terrible and they are horrific parents that let their kids run over them. Miranda letting her son who isn't even 18 have a live in girlfriend and order sex toys to their house while lecturing her and Steve about not being "sex shamed" and her not being woke enough is unbearable. Now of course the ridiculously spoiled brat is going off with his girlfriend to venture around Europe on her dime and she talks to him like he is the parent that she desperately wants his approval.

The show just doesn't work without Samantha and Big honestly. They were the two smartest and wittiest characters in the show and they kept it funny. The only character that is still funny is the Anthony character with his gay catering business and he is the only one who doesn't care, he says and does what he wants and is his own person. All the other characters left seem to spend all their time trying to get approval from others or try to one up each other.

Yes! Agree with all of this!! Just very disappointed in the direction they've decided to take all the cast. Life definitely has some ups and downs, but the creators decided to blow up every happy relationship story they had previously developed on the show, either through the couples or their children. I really hope they don't decide to do a second season.
