I am really thinking of starting to watch Yellowstone with the wife. But now I see a prequel coming out. 1883.

Should I just go ahead and watch Yellowstone, or start with 1883?

Go with Yellowstone. You have three complete seasons of it to see if you like it. The new show is an unknown.
