I'm sure many of you have probably heard of this before, but if you haven't, here's the gist:
Back in 1995, Leo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, and a bunch of their friends (ie the ***** Posse) made a small indie film (which was intended to be a short film) which their friends were directing.
For reasons which were never really clear, Leo and Tobey sued the filmmakers and blocked the movie from ever releasing in the US, Canada, and a bunch of other countries.
Well a couple weeks ago, I came across the full movie on Youtube and gave it a watch. I mostly enjoyed it, it's very much in the style of the other indies of the era like Clerks, Tarantino, Linklater, etc.
But then I found this documentary, and found it fascinating. Won't give too much away, but I'll just say it really disappoints me to find out how much of a complete ******* Tobey Maguire seems to be.
Of course, this is one side of the story, so it's hard to say this isn't a biased take. But it seems to be a mostly accurate look at the events that transpired.
Anyway, if anyone is interested in this kind of insider look at Hollywood, I highly recommend checking out the doc. (And the movie, too.)
