Kevin James as Sean Payton during his year away from the NFL.

Just saw this on Netflix. Checked the ratings, 17% Rotten Tomatoes and 92% so it's probably awesome. Figured I'd check TexAgs to see if anyone had any thoughts and boom, first page.

Then I see it's all just a tease.

I watched it last night and thought it was pretty funny. It's a Happy Madison production and it really stays true to that vibe. Lots of funny/cheesy one liners and quips. It really reminded me of The Little Giants. If you go in expecting a movie like that, you'll probably enjoy it.

Its exactly what you expect from

1) a Happy Madison movie
2) a Kevin James movie
3) a movie about a dad reconnecting with his son by coaching his son's Bad News Bears type of Pee Wee football team.

My family enjoyed it.

I was confused at first. Wife put it on and I was completely blind. Saw the Happy Madison logo and thought. ok.. I know what to expect. Then the super bowl montage and the confusion started. Then realizing Sean Payton was Kevin James… ok.. then started getting that cheesy vibe. But kept getting a "this is a serious Kevin James" vibe as well.

Overall, it was awful as a serious movie, but decent as a cheesy movie. I did laugh a couple times that I didn't expect. The bus driver and the assistant coach had me cracking up. Not overly funny. Just well placed and well timed "stupid humor".

They had real nfl coverage and did Sean Payton authorize it? Didn't paint him in the best light.

Sean Payton has a cameo in the movie. I think it's fair to say he was okay with how he was portrayed.

I thought it was kind of messed up when his kid asked if he could meet Drew Brees. This would have been maybe 5 or 6 years after his dad started working with Brees so you would think he would have been around him at least a few times.

Missed. It is a movie you can watch and multi task.

This is what I'm going off of. Didn't realize I didn't put Google Users in my original post. Down to 91% here though.

True re: Brees but the movie is largely fiction wrapped around a true story. Maybe that line was accurate but as you said it would seem a stretch for dramatic purposes.

If I'm wrong then I want to go stay in that hotel just so I can see the ever gurgling glowing jacuzzi

I'm watching it right now, and the funniest thing to me is how they portray Liberty Christian as a bunch of chumps from some podunk town. They're a private school in a Dallas suburb.

Movie is still fun to watch with the kids. I think my 3 kids have watched it 3 times in the last week.

I need to get Little Giants going.
