It's that time of the year again! The list of 2022 nominees is out.

(Edit: I think Eminem is a 100% lock and should be. I'm just biased on my picks because the Dolls/MC5 and Priest should have been in long ago. Rage is doubtful to me as long as Tom Morello is still on the "advisory" type group. He'll put Priest and others before Rage until all those old school rock bands get in)

In my uneducated opinion, I would think Duran Duran over Devo if they're only picking one.

I agree, makes me wonder how they're "grouping" these artists. Feels like Devo is a tiny bit too niche but with Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk getting in maybe there's a lane for Devo...if not this year, maybe soon if they keep up the idea of that electronic/industrial type sound. Thinking there might be a case made for Beck along those lines too.

Mass appeal, Duran Duran has a better case for it no doubt.

I have no idea how Dolly fits the criteria. Are other country legends already in? I think Cash is, but how about guys like Willie or George?

Can you imagine in 5-10 years what these nominees will look like? "It's a travesty Goo Goo Dolls aren't in!" "Katy Perry's time is now!" Yikes.

At some point, they might want to look at just shutting the process down before it gets really watered down. They're already putting artist in that were passed over for years and years....for a reason. Foo Fighters are really the last "stadium" type band to get in. Every rock band from here out will be "lessers". Not that there still aren't great bands left out there, but not the success level of the Foos. That era is unfortunately over.

Ridiculous that New Order/Joy Division isn't in, especially after taking Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk. Deeply influential band, broke a lot of barriers, have excellent variety of music, and very much standing the test of time. New Order songs and remixes are everywhere.

Dolly Parton is great but she's Country all the way. If you are going down that path then Jimmy Buffett is far more Rock than Dolly and he has the single largest moneymaking song of all time.

Need to also be doing a 90s band each year, think Smashing Pumpkins deserve to be in but Billy Corgan has probably pissed off the committee too much, Alice in Chains probably a safer bet (or sadly a lot of the 90s grunge bands that lead singer is dead now)

Its usually a completely disappointing and often baffling field of nominees - why would this year be any different? RRHOF is run by people who wouldn't know a rock song from Mongolian cricket singing.

Kate Bush is probably the next one. The three above have been hugely influential and so much music can trace back to them. I personally listen to all three much more than anything else on the list.

Not to snub the other nominees because just getting on the list is reward in of itself . However I'm always amazed at the lack of love for Kate Bush . Also as someone said earlier New Order should be in . They are very overlooked when compared to the contributions they made to a genre that was defining of an era .

Benetar, Priest, Duran are obvious guarantees.

Fine if anybody else gets in. Not what I consider Rock, but Lionel Ritchie has been a huge icon since his days with the Commodores. So, I want him.
