Has anyone watched this yet? We watched the first two episodes and thought it was pretty funny. It's not perfect and some parts are awkward but it's something different and enjoyable. It's a police comedy/ improv sketch combo.

" In Murderville, big-city police detective Terry Seattle (Will Arnett) has to solve a case in each episode, but because, as his chief/ex-wife Rhonda Jenkins-Seattle (Haneefah Wood) tells him, he can't seem to hold on to a partner, he gets a new "trainee" for every case. The trainee is a different celebrity playing his or herself, and they don't have a script. In fact, they have no idea what the case is or what they're supposed to do, but by the end of the episode, they have to guess who the murderer is."

Episode guests:
1) Conan O'Brien
2) Marshawn Lynch
3) Kumail Nanjiani
4) Annie Murphy
5) Sharon Stone
6) Ken Jeong

i've enjoyed it thus far. i've only seen the Conan and Marshawn episodes, but they were both funny in different ways.

i actually wonder if it would be better if it was less produced. just film it and treat it like a live sketch-show. maybe that would be a disaster, but it would at least feel a little more authentic and less produced.

I watched it over last Friday & Saturday.
It's a fun premise with enough comedic schtick.
The 'improv' part is a bit formulaic with what is thrown at the trainees.

I could stand another season.

Kumail was great- that was a really good episode

it would be interesting to see how much they work out the skits beforehand

this is basically "Shear Madness" on netflix trying to solve a murder with improv actors.

The Kumail episode was definitely my favorite. The walk/signature noise bit had me dying

I'm 2/4 on my cases. First two were wiffs, but now I know what I'm looking for. Helps when I'm paying attention, but I typically watch while doing laundry or washing dishes or something.

We really liked this show. Marshawn Lynch was probably our favorite. Conan was great as was Kumail. Will Arnett is great in his character's ridiculousness. 30 mins a pop, what's not to like?

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Murderville. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Terry's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Murderville truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Terry's existential catchphrase "I Mean, Did I Just Turn Seven Years Old? Because You Hired A ******* Clown!," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Will Arnett's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them.

And yes, by the way, i DO have a Murderville tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personal, kid.

you should pull a page out of the sportcaster's notebook from the newest episode and do all your interviews in the locker room

honestly shocked at how talented Maya Rudolph is as I have never been a fan

Bateman kills it as always.

it seemed Rudolph actually knows how to speak French!
