I don't think any network will come close to making iconic intros like HBO. Almost every show has an iconic intro and music that you will always remember.

ETA - There's some probably better intros that have come along since - but for many reasons, this will always be the gold standard. And considered in context of when the movie was released, was a huge leap forward in storytelling. The score was timeless, and to kick it off with some pretty incredible visual and audio effects right from the first shot really set the tone.
