Watched the first episode expecting to be turned off in the first 30 minutes. Two and a half hours later, I finished episode three. I liked it. Really different portyal of the characters from the original series. Carlton us just a bad person. Just want to punch him in the face.

Guessing it is aimed at lecturing white people, and white people only, on racism? Was one of my favorite shows of all time. I can even imagine a serious adaptation being pretty cool if done right. But I am jaded and now just assume serious shows like this are just going to one-way preach from a pedestal. Hope I'm wrong.

Yeah the humor is what made the show so effective and entertaining...while keeping to a good message. This show sounds like it will take itself way too seriously. It's like 'Empire' but with the characters of Fresh Prince.
