NBC aired a promo for their upcoming talent show/song contest during the Superbowl. This is obviously inspired by the Eurovision Song Contest that has the largest non-sports viewership in the world. The most famous winners being ABBA and Celine Dion.
There are a lot of varying opinions but I'm curious how you think this format will hold up in America and if it will succeed.
For those that aren't aware of it, each state will have a representative artist/band that will perform an original unreleased song that can be of any genre. It is then voted upon by the public to see who goes onto the next round. It's the first attempt at bringing the success of Eurovision over to the states.
I don't watch the talent shows that currently air like The Voice or Dancing with the Stars, but will probably sit down to watch this just due to the concept.
