Looking into learning how to play the guitar and wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions on a good acoustic guitar for someone who is just learning how to play.

All recommendations are helpful.

Thanks and Gig 'Em!

What is budget?

Takamine G Series is a good place to start for a solid middle of the road guitar.

Take a guitarist with you to a pawn shop. Look more for good action(least room between the strings and fretboard without buzzing) than brand name.

As far as bang for the buck it's hard to beat Orangewood guitars.

The Taylor Academy series 10 or 12 are great beginner acoustics. The armrest is beveled for extra comfort and ease for a beginner. You can even get them with a pickup/tuner installed to make it ready for any opportunity. Taylors have excellent necks that are easy to adjust. Very comfortable from a playing standpoint.

I started lessons again last year after not touching an instrument in 20 years.

My wife surprised with one of these on my birthday. It looks great. I live the abalone inlay around the sound hole.

Much like the seller on Reverb states in the link below, I'm surprised how good this guitar sounds. And plays. Recently I got it a setup by a luthier and a new set of Elixir strings and it's even better.

The guys at Guitar Center were sorry she was buying it because they were enjoying it up at the front. They had put it on a stand up there and took turns playing it. Pulled it out of the acoustic room.

Find one of these. Really nice sound at a low price.

It is 100% based on your budget.

Don't fall into the trap of, "I'm just a beginner, so I should buy a cheap guitar." Cheap guitars can be poorly made, have too high of an action, or be very poorly intonated. If the guitar is too hard to play and sounds bad when you play it, it does not inspire you to continue to learn.

Also, if you have the opportunity to buy a used guitar of the model you decide on, that is always best. You can always sell it for the same price you bought it for if you decide guitar just isn't for you.

The video posted above is a good one. Rhett Shull is a good GuitarTuber and can be trusted.

Also, for acoustics, I would say the price ranges are kind of:

0-$500 - Cheap
$500-$1,500 - Mid-range guitar
$1,500-$3,000 - Professional
$3,000-?? - You Love guitar and have lots of money burning a hole in your pocket.

Different manufacturers are better at certain price ranges. I would definitely help to have a guitar player help you look. Intonation and action are two things newbies won't quite get, when looking.

I started in one of the $150 Fender Acoustic bundle sets that comes with 6 mo of fender play

Not a bad guitar and worked for about a year. Once it was clear I was going to stick with it I went shopping and moved to a mid-range guitar.

Epiphone.

But, go play a few and ask at the guitar store. Almost all players will want to help get you started.

Yamaha NTX700. Neck is narrower like an electric guitar (less reaching far to fret) & nylon strings are easy on beginner fingers.

Find a used Seagull S6. Remarkably good sound. I bought mine used many years ago and it still plays better than my skills. Here is an example from FB marketplace:
