Kinda surprised there hasn't already been a thread on it. New movie available on Netflix.

Lots of good actors and the story was well done. Ryan Reynolds was great as usual, as was the kid actor.

Wife and I watched it last weekend - thought it was great. I saw some online review panned it because it gets sappy in a couple spots. Meh, whatever - not every second of a sci-fi action flick needs to be all sci-fi or action.

I really enjoyed it. It was more emotional and character-driven than I expected. The sci-fi stuff is fun, but the relationships are what really kept me intrigued.

That's 2-for-2 on Reynolds / Shawn Levy collaborations, with Free Guy and this. He was a great choice for directing Deadpool 3.

Good movie. Story was simple but decent. Characters were all pretty well done.

I thought the kid was great and a believable smartass kid version of Ryan Reynolds. I actually (SPOILERS, kind of) laughed out loud when grown Adam's wife handed kid Adam a raw carrot and said "eat something," and he just stared at it and mouthed "what the F."

Definitely well above average as far as Netflix exclusive movies go.

Was fine for 2 hours entertainment but nothing great IMO.
The whole "we have to go back in time to save the present" plot has been done countless times, and this didn't bring much new to it. Not to mention Reynolds plays basically the same character type in most of his movies.
But like I said, was not a waste of time.

Mark Ruffalos speech at the end was just phenomal and a great take on a time travel movie involving multiple generations and how they're all connected in time.
I guess using time travel for therapy and closure on past doings. I thought that theme was done well and original for me.

The lightsaber joke was great. Thought the movie was awesome.

With all the lightsaber jokes, I was sure that Ruffalo was gonna grab it at some point and say to the kid "I am your father".

I think it would be fine for a 12yo, but think the target audience is adults. Your kid may not enjoy the family dynamics story as much as you

I watched it with a 12 and 15 yo and I'm fairly strict compared to most, even at that age.

It's about a Marvel Movie risqu/language but no overtly sexual references that I remember other than high school trash talk. I watched it with my southern Baptist MiL and she laughed frequently and loved it.

Interesting observation, brave browser won't let me type risqu properly.

I enjoyed the movie a lot. I don't know that I would have if I had seen it in a theater, but it was perfect for Netflix.

Also, the kid was clearly the star of the show. He absolutely nailed Ryan Reynolds as a kid.

Perfectly fine for a 12 year old.

Then again, my dad always did ridiculous things like taking me to see Saving Private Ryan when I was 9 years old so I would "know what war was really like." It's possible my frame of reference for movie age appropriateness is kind of skewed.

Was actually pretty entertaining, and a bit dusty in the room at the end. Might be the best netflix movie I've seen but the competition isn't exactly steep there.

I thought it was pretty blah. Typical Netflix mediocre film
Had some good moments....just go watch Frequency instead.

Pleasantly surprised at this one.

Based on my 12 yo's reaction, it is not only appropriate for 12 yo, but made specifically for 12 year olds.

Wife and I watched it on the release date. We both really enjoyed it - definitely a good Friday night movie.

Ryan Reynolds can seemingly do no wrong right now.

Overall thought it was excellent

[sp]It was the rare movie that stole endings from two others, the catch scene from Field of Dreams and the "it's not your fault" hug/climax from Goodwill Hunting[/sp]

Other than a minor quibble with those two obvious allusions, I thought it was terrific

Let me preface again by saying I thought it was awesome.

However, I did eye roll pretty hard at the end when the giant electro magnet caused the bullet to curve through the lady, but it did nothing to the gun in the old lady's hands that were full of the exact same rounds

Well you just had to go and ruin the scene now.

I was kind of just happy that the younger version didn't do the cliche thing of jumping in front.

I enjoyed the movie. Kid did the typecast RyanReynolds act well.

Good feeling tugs a few times. Character motivations are believable.

Gotta check your time travel mechanics at the door though. Time travel tech is basically used as magic with rules that change at any time for any reason.

Finally got around to watching this one. Really liked it. Also got a little choked up at Ruffalos speech at the end.

I also cried during the Cowboys. My mom still tells the story of me seeing it the first time. Still can barely watch.

Yeah... it was a real wtf moment. Imagine how strong of a pull it would need to turn a shot bullet 90 degrees but it would also be weak enough to not even pull at the gun in the old lady's hand.

Saw it last night and enjoyed it. Not the greatest movie ever made but.. it's 2022 and at least it was new content that wasn't over the top with "themes".

The best casting was one of the lead bad guys - Alex Mallari Jr.
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3520506/

I really enjoyed that actor's performance and his character in the Canadian series - Dark Matter
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4159076/

Seeing him in this role was a perfect fit.

I almost couldn't stop laughing during the opening sequence where the music is "Gimme Some Lovin'" by the Spencer Davis Group. Circa 2007, I had an opportunity to meet Spencer Davis at a Hollywood party. I thought he was just an old Welshman with bad teeth but even in his late 60s, he turned out to be a massive horndog. I would have felt sorry for him throwing game at girls 30 years younger but it was actually working with a few of them. I guess I should have been a musician.

Also, Zoe Saldana is 43 - wow!

Just saw it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Just a fun little sci-fi movie, and I generally enjoy anything with Ryan Reynolds being Ryan Reynolds.
