Did we talk about this and I missed it?
Even here it's buried in an article about Murphy playing George Clinton.

Wouldn't this be Beverly Hills Cop 3?

There's only been Beverly Hills Cop 1 and Beverly Hills Cop 2... So yeah, this would be Beverly Hills Cop 3.

Axel solved the Alphabet Crimes, Bogomil got out of the hospital, and that was the last we ever saw of Beverly Hills Cop.

Hope the third one is good!

I am in the minority, but don't much like the second one and enjoyed the third one. I get why people didn't like the third one, but I was cool with the different feel, it was fun. Especially after the overly self important (at least in how they portrayed Axel) second one.

The problem with this hypothetical part 3 is it just doesn't sound like it has any funny jokes.

2 might have taken itself too seriously, but it still had a number of classic Eddie Murphy scenes.

But to be fair, 1987 BHC2 Eddie Murphy possessed an edge and delivery that had they come out with a sequel 7 years later probably would have been significantly softened/dulled.

One of my favorite Letterman clips of all time with Eddie promoting The Phantom Movie in 1994. Mocks the premise and immediately destroys him for the clip, which is 90% stuntman.
