What are the Hollywood types and fans thinking about this one?

Seems like she made up some of the allegations. At least, some of her stories are highly inconsistent with evidence collected at the time.

Depp's career was ruined over it.

I think they both seem like great people and it's a real shame to see these kids torn apart by love.

I think she's definitely making sh*t up, and is obviously batsh*t insane, but I can tell you for a fact that Depp is no angel either. I have no idea if he actually abused her (while there's no doubt in my mind she abused him), but I know someone who's known Depp for years, and the stories they've told me aren't particularly flattering. Not in a "monster" kind of way, but let's just say he almost assuredly wasn't faithful. That doesn't mean he "deserved" whatever he had coming, but they're both flawed individuals, Heard just happens to be an all-time psycho.

I have not followed this case at all. I just wanted to say that I will be extremely disappointed if Depp doesn't take the stand in his full Jack Sparrow costume, and never break character during the entire testimony.

Laywer: Did you abuse Amber Heard?

He's never been gay. Possibly bi, but never gay.

She wrote an op-ed in 2018 claiming abuse, although it was pretty vague. Depp lost roles and sued her. A UK tabloid called him a "wife beater." He sued the tabloid and Heard, while not a party to the case, had to file information with the court. In the court filings, she claimed Johnny assaulted her on a specific date, pulling hair and scalp of her head, hit her, gave her a broken nose, two black eyes and a busted lip. The day after this incident, she appeared on James Corden's show with no apparent injuries. The make-up artist testified that Heard had no injuries. Heard allegedly took pictures of the injuries, but has thus far refused to turn over the images to Depp's legal team. Depp lost that case. The judge ruled that he believed Heard, despite the evidence pointing the other direction. The judge's brother, as it turns out, was a partner in the law firm representing Heard.

The 2nd incident involved several alleged witnesses. She gave a deposition under oath detailing the incident. Heard's statement was not backed up by the witnesses at the scene or by the police bodycam footage. She claimed Johnny was out of control, breaking glass, throwing wine, etc. She took pictures of the damage. The police bodycam footage from just an hour after the alleged incident showed no wine spilled, no broken glass, no damage. It appears she staged the scene at a later time.

This lawyer breaks it down pretty well. The case has a *lot* of allegations. This is just two of them.

If he showed up in the gear the judge would have to allow it. He could do his entire testimony just in Jack Sparrow lines.

The guy testifying now. Oh my god.

He's an artist who is a friend of Depp and Heard. He was at their house several times per week. Apart from sounding like a stereotypical New York "go eff yourself" type, Rekieta Law is live-streaming and just pulled up some of his art.

Imagine Hillary Clinton, Donna Brazille, and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz in a nude group hug. That was the tamest one.

since I am an attorney I watched some of the 7 hour feed from yesterday.

surprised how poorly Depp's attorneys did in opening statements. literally reading their prepared speech and stumbling several times.

how can you not memorize opening statements when it is such a simple case?!

it's not like multi-national money laundering for F sakes
