If dozens of burger war movies and docs can be made, there's a movie in here somewhere. Other pizza stories would be the rise of Dominos and how they and their delivery put out of business the sit down pizza parlors of Pizza Hut and Pizza Inn, Mr Gatti's and Herman Cain's Godfather's pizza. Great child of the 80's memories of going to all of these places

The Wikipedia listing also used to say that part of the origin story was that Charles Entertainment Cheese was an orphan and that's why he (an animation icon rat) wanted kids to have birthday parties at his place.

We had my kids birthday at one a week ago and I definitely recognized the voice of Chuck E as the Bowling for Soup guy.

Ha, Bowling for Soup is from my hometown. Went to high school with Gary the drummer, who was a senior when I was freshman, and Gary's mom was my freshman English teacher. Never had a teacher who was so nice seeming on the surface but truly just a mean assh*le of a woman beneath it all. Man, I did not like her.

I've played darts with the guitar player a few times in Denton.

Literally the first "live concert" I ever saw was my freshman year of high school when one of our English teachers, who used to teach a couple of the guys, had the lead singer and bassist from Bowling for Soup come to our school and play a small acoustic set for two of our classes in the library. Heard Girl All the Bad Guys want, before it blew up. This would have been around 2001.

My local Chucky E. Cheese was always pretty clean and well-run. They had legit good pizza too. Granted, I'm sure the ball pit was unsanitary as hell, but it never *looked* dirty, at least, haha.

In additional to various birthday parties, we'd go as a family every six weeks, when report cards came out. They had a promotion where you'd get X amount of tokens for As, X amount of tokens for Bs, etc. Some outings were certainly more "profitable" than others in that regard. I remember getting a C once and feeling like such a loser, showing my report card to the guy behind the glass counter with all the prizes.
