I'm out of town by myself, so I'm going to watch something that I would not watch with the wife.

Kind of intrigued by any number of Nic Cage's offerings.....most notably "Pig" or "Color Out of Space". The last Cage movie I saw was "Mandy" which was BSC if you haven't seen it.

Aside from that, I have the following on my list:

  • The Witch
  • The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
  • The Kings Man
  • Midsommar
  • Uri: The Surgical Strike (war movie in India)
  • Ghostbusters: Afterlife (wife doesn't seem interested in this surprisingly)
  • Oldboy

I haven't seen anything in this post.

As I get older the more I realize some films are a lot more fun when you watch with someone equally enthusiastic….so while I loved Afterlife that's a movie I'd recommend watching with someone else who loves ghostbusters….

Honestly I'd say The Witch is a good one to watch solo

Of the options listed I'd go with Midsommar. It's a completely different rif on the horror genre, seeing everything happen during daylight is kind of mind blowing, it's good, and insane.

I haven't seen any of the Cage films above. Never saw The Witch but plenty of people loved that movie.
The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is ok but if you want to see Henry Cavill as a spy then just watch Mission Impossible Fallout again.
The Kings Man is bad, and I enjoyed the first two.
Never heard of Uri.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is ok until the end, then it's not, it's got a terrible ending.
You watching the original Oldboy or the remake? The original would be a good option as well.

Agree on watching Afterlife with someone. I'm taking that one off the list. Now that I think about it, I recall my wife saying she actually wants to watch Midsommar so I'm striking that as well.

It would be the original Oldboy (2003)? In Korean?

I actually really liked UNCLE. It's extremely Guy Ritchie though.

The Witch.

I also really liked UNCLE. I think the only reason it's knocked is because it follows the same Guy Ritchie recipe (which I get is old, but the movie itself is solid). King's man is not very good at all. Significantly worse than the first two.

Your choice should be between UNCLE and Witch. Doubleheader?

Which oldboy? The original is one of the best live stories ever put to film

The witch is good but you have to be in the mood for it

Same for midsummer.

The kingd man wasn't anywhere near as good as the first

With my wife, is probably go with Uncle

Original Oldboy I think. I assume it's the one from 2003 with Koreans.

Oldboy has a slight nod over The Witch.

Welp, the original Oldboy is not available on any platform so The Witch it is.

Color out of space was pretty solid if you like crazy ass movies. It was similar to Mandy in that regard. I enjoyed both of them a lot more than the witch. I thought the witch was ok but mostly pretty boring. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it but I didn't particularly care for it

The Witch was a good choice

That was pretty creepy and weird. Those twins were especially creepy. Not sure what I think about it.

I take it the Witch projected herself as Lucifer there at the end to sway Thomison to the dark side.

Saw the Witch in theaters, that is a good movie.

Just rewatch one of the following:

- Tombstone
- Big Lebowski
- Office Space
- your favorite Star Wars movie (and by that, I mean The Empire Strikes Back). You heard me.
- any of these, in order of how antisocial you might be at the moment: 1) Shooter. 2) Law Abiding Citizen. 3) Falling Down
