Just finished episode three and really enjoying this series. Wish they would just release all of the episodes at the same time.

Both of their child hoods were so f***ed up. Was sitting here genuinely feeling terrible for them.
Only two episodes in and really enjoying it. Lots of series have tried to approximate the True Detective vibe but this one legit gets close.
Edit to say that after catching up on all episodes I no longer get a True Detective vibe from the show. It's probably closer to season one of Mindhunter but not as intense (or entertaining). Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the series a lot but just wanted to clarify.

Brian Miller's character is based off my childhood friend's father. Gary Miller was my little league coach when I was really little, we used to swim at their house all the time. Hoopeston, was a small midwestern town. Roach disappearing or anyone for that matter in a small town environment pretty much shocks the community. This took place while I was in high school, and I recall Gary working on this and the entire county being in shock. Frankly, I didn't know the rest of the story that I have learned reading articles or watching this TV show. I also read a Facebook chat dedicated to Roach. There were several cases he worked on and frankly time went by and I moved off to college and never really spent much time back home.
I'm glad his work paid off and they caught this freak, and I'm really interested on how the story plays out in the rest of the episodes.
I love old school detective work, Gary was an old school small town dad. Gary's a good guy, it's nice to see a documentary involving his work.

Yep. This show is good. The timing of Ray Liotta's passing and the post-credits on the episode were very eerie.
Finished the series last night. As others mentioned, Paul Walter Hauser definitely deserves an Emmy for his performance in this show. There is a scene in the finale where he loses control that has to be some of the best acting I've ever seen!
I imagine this show gets overlooked during award season due to being on AppleTV, but I don't think enough can be said about the performances in this show. Houser is undoubtedly the standout, but I thought Egerton did an amazing job as well. The little facial cues to display his inner thoughts during his wood shop discussions with Larry were top notch. What a fantastic show.

Intriguing series with great acting all around, most notably the two leads. I'm curious what happened to the prison guard, though. The real-life Larry truly is a weirdo. He should've been executed a long time ago.
Paul Hauser my god. We continually commented how amazing his acting was in this role.

Such a well done show. I also would have liked a little more during the trial, where maybe Jimmy and Larry have to see each other. Overall, A+.
And Taron Egerton and Paul Watler Hauser definitely deserve awards for this one, and I think Ray Liotta, Greg Kinnear, and Sepideh Moafi do as well. Had to look up Agent McCauley's real name, I hadn't seen her in anything yet.

Just finished it and thought it was great. I'm really starting to appreciate the long format series that can go at whatever pace is needed to tell a good story. Nothing felt rushed but nothing dragged. I was engaged the whole time.
Started watching this earlier today, and ended up binging it. As mentioned before, the actors did an amazing job! I see this show getting a lot of Emmy nominations.
This show was great - Larry Hall was a freak - what great acting
