Thoughts?

Personally, horrifically cheesy. Laughable storyline.

And yet, still tremendously entertaining.

And yes, this thread is from 1995.

One of the best cyber thrillers ever made. I love that genre. I made a post about them a long time ago.

There's something magic about this movie. Probably the dedication and performances by the actors but this movie just works on all levels. Plus, when you pause the film at the right time, you can see Jolie's titty.

Hard to believe the bad guy in this movie, Fisher Stevens, dated Michelle Pfeiffer in her prime hotness years.

She must have really enjoyed the Short Circuit movies.

pretty sure it's in Jolie's contract that she MUST show at least one boob in 50% of her films cause jeez those things pop out for quick hellos in her films a lot

I kinda hoped Johnny Lee Miller would have taken off after this film. His stardom didn't really ignite after Hackers. I don't think he did anything mainstream until Dexter.

Was probably my favorite movie when it came out. I've seen it dozens if times and used to jam.the hell out if the soundtrack. I can probably quote the whole thing.

HACK THE PLAAANNEEEEET.

Also lol at hacking the Gibson. Seeing Angelina jolies sideboob for like a tenth of a second was also the best thing ever to 12 or 13 year old me or whatever.

You are forgetting about a very provocative movie called The Net, with that girl from the bus.

I liked Hackers, but I go more with the pre-net airwave hacking movie Pump Up the Volume. There was no quick glimpse of side boob -- there was full exposure of cool chick girl crush Samantha Mathis.

And another incredible soundtrack.

Trainspotting was great.

Agree with others on Hackers. Right in my high school wheelhouse. Loved the movie and the soundtrack. Don't recall Angelina's boob though. Will have to go back and rewatch asap.

That's hilarious that this thread is at the top of the entertainment board, I just turned on hackers for a good cheesy tech background movie.

I was actually looking for a horror movie to watch last night and saw it was leaving Amazon Prime in four days so I figured I'd watch while it was there.

It's one of my guilty pleasure movies. I love cheesy tech (like hackers and antitrust) and disaster movies (like dante's peak and the core).

It's also highly ironic since I'm in the InfoSec world

Back in the 90's my cousin paid big money to have the phone company install at 128kbps ISDN line so he could play Quake at a faster clip.

I actually remember in the late 90s I was looking into an ISDN line and Myriad ISP (blast from the past for some of you) instead approved my apartment for a beta test on new tech called a cable modem. I was freaking floored when we got 500 Kbps.

LOL, the good ol days. But my teammates and I still try to find the best time to catch someone off guard with a well timed "hack the planet" or a "not like this" from the matrix

Yeah, I was one of the first with them as well. That cable modem must have weighed 5 lbs. Was fun destroying all the dial-up users on Myriad's Quake 2 server...LPB!

I also remember that for the first few months I could see network shares from companies that were using a cable modem also. Really, really good thing I didn't know things that I know now…really good lol
