Was surprised to see a thread hadn't been started on this one, though there aren't necessarily A listers in it and the only marketing I saw for the film was a poster standup at my go-to theater.

What a powerfully well done movie. Never have I been on the verge of tears in a movie theater before. This will get many Oscar nominations and likely some wins.

I did not know much about the story of Emmitt Till, and while a bit slow, this told the story beautifully through the eyes of his mother

It's a gut-punch of a story. I'll definitely see the movie, but I'm not looking forward to it, if that makes sense.

Saw it at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival. As Ghost of Bisbee said, powerful, well done movie. What's the right word? Saddened, Sickened, that this story had to be true in this country? I can't imagine Danielle Deadwyler not getting an Oscar nomination, for her role.
