This is a great series at times, and easily the best Western I've seen in years.

Chaske Spencer plays a Pawnee Indian named Eli Whipp and is amazing, one of the best characters I've seen in a western. My biggest complaint is that he is not featured enough. Emily Blunt is awesome, as usual, and her chemistry with Spencer is really good.

Sadly, the story meanders away from them a little too often, but it is still a great series. It is brutal and tragic, but I recommend it highly.

I thought it was fantastic. Really really enjoyed it.

A little hard to follow when they jumped around in time, but it didn't take away from the story.

I've heard that book is great. Thanks for reminding me, I'll check it out.

I love westerns, and this one is really good. Blunt and Spencer are great.

Awesome series...I had to go back and watch it again to fully comprehend all the storylines and the characters' involvement in them.

"Empire of the Summer Moon" should be required reading for all who consider themselves Native Texans. It provides a better understanding of the true cost and peril of settling our Republic.

Good grief. Well-written, well-acted, but that is a violent horrorshow. A Gothic Western.

Binged it in two days. I enjoyed it. I love a good western story. Wish it would have been 8 episodes.

Awesome show but very complex. We watched it over a few days and still had to think back to how the characters were all intertwined. PSA- don't try to watch this after consuming alcoholic bevs. You will 100% have to go back and re-watch the entire episode to figure out what's going on.

I thought this was awesome. My wife and I watched ep1 and she wasn't into so she dropped out. I finished it on a flight yesterday. So she asks, what happens? I told her I didn't know where to start other than EB is a badass. And that it was the kind of movie a literature teacher would be proud of.

EXACTLY! I watched it the first time with my wife and we were discussing it as it went along and missing details. I watched it very carefully a second time and was even more amazed at how the story worked itself out. I thought the move had to have been developed from a novel, but read that the director (Hugo Blick) wrote the screenplay.

Really enjoyed that.

Also not sure I've seen something so great in nearly all aspects, except for such uneven screenplay at times.

This is maybe the best show I've seen this year. Fantastic acting, dialogue, plot, wardrobe, character development, settings, etc. SO good.

I hadn't ever heard of him until I watched this; he needs to be in more stuff. He completely owned this role.

Finally got around to watching this. Really really excellent. Captured the nostalgia I feel for Westerns but also seemed really fresh. Both leads were awesome and the cinematography is gorgeous (shot mostly in Spain apparently).
