Retiring in 2025

I'll have to make more effort to see them over the next couple of years - great band, one of my favorites.

Sad to hear. Also a big fan. Will have to catch them at least one last time! Hopefully they don't just mail it in like REK did

Saw them last summer at 713 Music Hall with Old 97s

RK still puts on a great show. Actually they both did

Seen them more times than any other band/artist, and they always put on a fantastic show, but guess after how much they've been on the road for the past few decades, they deserve a rest.

Bummed to hear this, they were my favorite band in college and I had some great times at their concerts over the years. Will definitely have to catch them on tour soon

Some of my best memories in college station were seeing them play shadow canyon/ midnight rodeo/ whatever else it was called. They were my go to every week when I painted logos on Kyle field. Gonna miss them.

We pretty much catch every show we can when they hit austin or San Antonio or anywhere between. This sucks.

They will still play 20ish shows a year after 2025. I guarantee it. They are still young, you don't just simply quit music when you've been doing it your entire life. It's in their blood.

After a months month off, they will get bored and start to miss it. I dont doubt they will cut back a ton. They will still play one off dates.

I was going to remark that they look old and then I realized that I probably am their age or older.

Lots of fond, fuzzy memories from B/CS in the early 00s.

That's essentially what they say in the article - but it'll be a far cry from being able to see them in Houston every 3-4 months.

Seen RK live many times over the years... the show they'd play right around St. Patrick's Day at the Mucky Duck in Houston was always one of my favorite occasions to see them live.

The time I enjoyed the most, however, was seeing RK, Micky & the Motorcars, and Randy Rogers Band at The Troubadour in West Hollywood back in 2011.
