Just watched this on Hulu and thought it was very good. Tells the story of how an Indian immigrant started Chippendales, got rich and then lost it all. Kumail Nanjiani plays main character in his first dramatic role and does a surprisingly good job. Based on a true story that I'd never heard and is absolutely crazy.

I really like the actor who plays the main character, so I was interested, but not sure about the male stripper stuff. I'm what leftist liberals have recently inappropriately labeled as 'Super Strait'; I have no sexual attraction to men, or ladies that used to be men. I decided to watch the first episode despite my reservations.

Now, having said that; it's a very good show. There is gratuitous male nudity, but also female nudity. The male nudity is mostly in the background as the story and plot keep moving, but there are some incredibly graphic male on male sex scenes that will make many people feel uncomfortable. Those scenes are short, and I just fast forwarded past them.

Great story and series, but it's not for everyone. Even though I'm a Super Strait male, I still recommend it…

Edit: I understand this is a somewhat unusual post (apologies to anyone that I unintentionally have offended), but in this thread I think what I said is relevant to others on here that have the same reservations that I had. Once again, it's not for everyone (regardless of sexual preference), but if it's not too much of a bother to you then check it out and watch an episode or two.

There is also a short documentary series either on Hulu or Netflix that interviews the actual people that were there at chippendales, it's also a really interesting binge watch. I recommend watching that after you watch Welcome to Chippendales…

Does the documentary have graphic sex scenes too?

Haha, no nudity at all, just interviews.

Welcome to Chippendales is based off of real events, but they took a lot of important liberties that differ with what really happened. That's why I'd watch it before the documentary.

Probably funnier and gayer than Bros.

Not to nitpick but you should watch The Big Sick, he wrote and starred in that before this. Quite a bit of dramatic acting in that

Haven't watched it yet, but I'll watch anything with Murray Bartlett. Armond has been the best character in The White Lotus so far, and he was really good in Looking (series about gay guys in SF) too.

That's a fair point. We watched The Big Sick and liked it. I just forgot about it.
