Three episodes in and I don't quite know how I feel about this one just yet.
On one hand, the production design is incredible, the overall quality is top notch, and it looks unlike anything I've ever seen on TV. It's just a really cool, unique world I enjoy spending time in. Very Mad Men meets The Jetsons, with a splash of Severance, in that something about this world/scenario/workplace is just... off.
That said, after three episodes I still find the story/motivations/mystery a bit too vague. There's been *zero* explanation as to why this version of the '50s is the way it is (with all kinds of advanced tech we don't have even in 2023), and while it's fairly obvious what Billy Crudup's character is up to, I need more than what we've been given so far to truly invest/care and be properly pulled in.
All in all, though, it's enough to keep me watching, but more than anything I'm curious to hear what others think. Again, the first three episodes debuted Thursday night, but starting next Friday it'll be one per week. And they're only half an hour a piece so far, so it's a quick, easy watch...
