I "hated" The Cure at the time they came to Texas Stadium in Irving in 1992. I had a lot of friends go but I had zero interest in seeing a band I "hated".
I knew jack and s*** about The Cure, their look just annoyed me.
Of course within 6 weeks of the show I started enjoying Friday I'm in Love, had the album, and realized their greatness.
I've regretted missing that show ever since, particularly once I started working back in their catalog over the next few years.
We did finally catch them several years ago at the AAC in Dallas. Robert Smith is an international treasure. I never realized how much of the lead melody lines he played in their arrangements.
