James Cameron called The Matrix, “one of the most profoundly fresh science fiction films ever made”.
And Quentin Tarantino called seeing The Matrix, “a mindblowing experience.” Here he is talking about it.

So in that metavese who winds up slapping Chris Rock? Hugo Weaving?Brian Earl Spilner said:
Butterfly effect...if Will Smith takes the Matrix, does Bad Boys II still happen? (Released same year as Reloaded.)
Does Jada Pinkett get cast in the sequels? Probably not.

And we can probably kiss the John Wick franchise goodbye.
Somewhat similar. I remember having no interest in this specifically because of Keanu. He had a string of movies in the mid-90s that were really bad. Johnny Mnemonic is one that comes to mind. Anyways, a friend of mine went early in the day on opening day. He came back and said it was amazing. I kind of blew it off as, "Whatever..." That night, though, we didn't really have anything else to do, so I ended up going to see the movie with some other friends. I remember the theater not really being that full, which was very strange for a Friday night in CS. Pretty much everything sold out back then. My mind was immediately blown the second Trinity did that kick. It was one of only a handful of times I remember watching a movie and thinking, "Everything has just changed."Garrelli 5000 said:
I still remember standing in my kitchen and my buddy was talking about it. I said "nope, Keanu, not interested".
He swore it was badass, so much so he'd gladly watch it again if I wanted to go, and he'd buy my ticket if I didn't like it.
So off to the theater in CS off hwy6 we went.
Mind blown. Life changing movie.
FWIW I love Keanu today.
Thanks for starting this thread.

Lot of actors in there who turned the movie down I didn't know about.
Lou Diamond Phillips must still be kicking himself.
Salma Hayek would've been a great Trinity.
And thank God Jean Reno turned down Smith, because nobody could play that part better than Hugo Weaving.

Top 5 movie of the 90s
The DP on the film was Bill Pope. He and the Wachowskis created a stunning looking film that still stands up to this day, as shown in our compilation of the movie's greatest shots.

Will Smith already had the best 90's run of any Hollywood actor. Replace WWW with Matrix and it's an all-timer. Don't know who'd possibly top that except maybe Arnold or some classic actor from the olden days.
Edit: Actually it's probably 77-84 Harrison Ford.

I haven't, and if that's the advertisement for it, I never will.TexasAggie_02 said:I guess you haven't seen "everything, everywhere, all at once"The Porkchop Express said:Brian Earl Spilner said:

When I bought the dvd I went ahead and bought my first surround sound system as well so I could enjoy the scene where Neo and Trinity storm the lobby. Most expensive dvd ever purchased.
