interesting.. I had no idea..
"Murray offered Ike a $20,000 advance, convincing him to keep Bullock's vocals on the record and suggested that he "make her the star" of his show. This prompted Ike to rename her Tina Turner, however, family and friends still called her Ann. He then trademarked the name for protection, so that if she left he could hire another female artist and have her perform under the moniker "Tina Turner"."
So he created the name Tina, used his last name, but they ended up getting married anyway.. yet her name was Anne Bullock, but changed to Tina Turner.
Oh, also,.. this
"Tina had reservations about continuing her relationship with Ike. According to Tina, after she expressed her concern, Ike responded by hitting her in the head with a wooden shoe stretcher."
gotta love the good ol days lol.
Kinda crazy coming less than a week after Ghost put out a cover of that song.beanbean said:
Love this song. I have it in my 80's playlist.
Nice. I liked that cover and I usually can't get into Ghost. That song fit their style pretty good. I knew they did a cover of Iron Maiden's Phantom of the Opera for this album they are coming out with, but I didn't know they did this song.OCEN99 said:Kinda crazy coming less than a week after Ghost put out a cover of that song.beanbean said:
