I didn't know if I could use or even blank out a cuss word in a title, but for this thread no other word will cut it. When you think of a cold, calculating, total *****, which movie characters are your favorite? This came to mind because I'm watching Any Given Sunday for the 20th time and Cameron Diaz freaking nails it. It got me to thinking of which other ***** characters were nailed. The first two that popped into my mind were Annette Benning in American Beauty and Kelly Preston in Jerry Maguire.

Right here. She doesn't want to marry the town's arrogant hot-head and wants to go do something else, we get it. But she:

  • Parades (in-song) about all the things she hates about her town, judging everyone and their life choices in the process
  • Makes a deal with the Beast to stay at the castle in exchange for her father - which she then tries to reneg on the first chance she gets
  • The Beast gives her free roam of the castle except for one part - which she immediately violates.
  • When she does violate his space, she gets mad that the Beast got mad at her about it.
  • Then tries to run away, almost getting the Beast killed when he has to save her.
  • Then when the Beast says "screw it, you can leave" she stirs up a mob against the Beast, which gets town people killed and the Beast's castle ransacked.

Grade-A b**** all the way.

My theory is that the old-lady's curse on the Beast and the castle came to completion when they got together at the end. She'll never be happy, and they are going to be miserable for the rest of their lives.

I have similar thoughts on Elsa from Frozen.
- lied to her sister for years
- nearly killed her and others multiple times out of her rage and selfishness
- goes back on her word often
- doesn't support her sister and talks down to her

Anna is the one kids should look up to in that story but Elsa gets all of the love.
